My iPhone got wet! Help!
So you dropped your iPhone in the bath, the sea or the toilet, and you want to fix it, dry it out, and recover the data inside. Here's how to rescue a waterlogged or wet iPhone. Updated, 9 September 2014
It's a sad fact that iPhones and iPads (but particularly iPhones) get damaged all the time. Probably the most common is the smashed screen, which we discuss in our article on getting Apple to replace your broken iPhone. But the second most common is almost certainly water damage.
Cheer up, however, because a quick dunk in the old H20 isn't necessarily a death sentence for an iPhone - we can't guarantee anything, but all is not lost quite yet. In this article we explain the best strategies for dealing with a water-damaged iPhone or other iOS device. (Indeed, the same principles will apply to most electronic devices.)

How to repair a water damaged iPhone

How to fix a water-damaged iPhone: Emergency external drying

First things first. Get the iPhone out of the water (lake/bidet/soup) right away, if you haven't already, and don't even think about plugging it in. If the waterlogged iPhone is plugged in already, unplug it (very carefully), and don't be tempted to turn it on and check for damage, which can cause short circuits.
If the wet iPhone is in a case, remove it; take the SIM card out too. (Removing the battery wouldn't hurt either, but this is obviously only for confident DIY-type users who are willing to void the warranty.) These steps help to reduce the number of nooks and crannies where water can linger, and help to avoid damage to key iPhone components.
Wipe the excess and exterior liquid off everything you can reach. Turn the iPhone upside down and give it a gentle shake to clear the ports and sockets.
Water damaged iPhone
Now, what you want to avoid is activating the circuits inside the iPhone, because this is likely to lead to short circuits - that's what causes the long-term damage. If the iPhone happens to be switched off, therefore, leave it off. Don't be tempted to power it up and see if it still works. It might, and then promptly stop working forever precisely because you took a look.
A more likely scenario, sadly, is that your iPhone was switched on (or in sleep mode) when you dropped it in the drink. So at this point you're looking at two unappealing options: power down (but in the process causing the screen and operating system to wake up briefly before switching off) or leave the device in sleep mode in the hope that you don't get any notifications.
It's your decision, but after discussions here in the Macworld offices we've decided that the lesser of two evils is to wake the iPhone briefly in order to do a full power off - and that's what we suggest in the video at the top of this article. If you were lucky enough to be in Airplane Mode when you dropped the device, however, or are otherwise confident that nothing will happen to make your iPhone wake up in the next 48 hours, leaving it alone might be the better option.

How to fix a water-damaged iPhone: Deeper drying with rice or silica gel sachets

Now we need to draw as much interior liquid out as possible. Resist the temptation to use a hair dryer or other heat treatment, which can damage the iPhone's internal components. (A few iPhone users advise the use of a non-heated fan, mind you, which at least shouldn't make things worse, even if we think the below techniques are likely to be more effective.)
To get moisture out of the iPhone's interior, you need a dessicant. Many people swear by uncooked rice, advising owners to put their damp iPad or iPhone in a big bowl of the stuff (cover it completely) and leave it there for 48 hours or so. The rice will absorb the moisture effectively, and most of us have some uncooked rice in our homes (or can get hold of some fairly easily). But it may get dust or even entire grains into the ports. Be warned.

However, a better option than uncooked rice if you've got it is silica gel - those little (and inedible) packets that come with some electronic components, particularly if they've been shipped from a country with a humid climate. You need to muster enough of them to cover the iPad/iPhone. You may be able to buy them en masse from a craft shop, and handbag shops are a great source - ask the staff if they mind you fishing out the sachet that you'll probably find zipped into each handbag's interior pocket.
Silica gel sachets should dry a wet iPhone out more efficiently and less messily than rice. You should still give the iPhone at least 48 hours to dry out completely, however.

How to fix a water-damaged iPhone: Dismantling your iPhone

If you're really confident about doing DIY repairs on your iPhone, mind you, the best approach to a wet iPhone is to unscrew the bottom screws (on most models of iPhone this will require a proprietary type of screwdriver head, available as part of some 'iPhone repair kits' sold by unofficial third-party accessory makers) and access the interior. Just bear in mind that this is likely to invalidate any warranty coverage you've got, and that there's a risk that your DIY work will cause damage rather than repair it.
Still: the most effective way to get water from the inside of an iPhone is to get right in there and dry it out from within. You'll want to take the battery out, for instance (this also minimises the potential for short circuits), and get water out of all the internal nooks and crannies. Apply a soft dry cloth to all interior surfaces while endeavouring to be as gentle as possible.
We're not sure we'd recommend this approach, primarily because of its potential to exacerbate the problem. But in some situations it may be the only way to save the day - and if nothing else works and you're out of warranty, you may find yourself with nothing to lose.

How to fix a water-damaged iPhone: What to do next

Once you've waited a couple of days and think you've successfully dried out your iPhone, you can try switching it on. If it still doesn't work, or if you want to get the internals checked out, you can ask Apple to take a look, but bear in mind that iOS devices have internal liquid detectors, so there's no point pretending the device went wrong of its own accord. They will know.
One final warning: a bad submersion may cause long-term damage, particularly to the battery, that only becomes apparent months later. In one famous case, an iPhone 3GS spontaneously overheated more than a year after being dropped in a pool. The owner had used the rice technique and the iPhone had worked fine afterwards.
We would therefore advise that, if you're lucky enough to be able to get your iPhone to run after a dip, you should back up all important files on the device in case it packs up again in the future. Its recovery, we're sorry to say, may only be temporary - but we hope not.

How to fix a water-damaged iPhone: Anti-water damage products

Hopefully the steps above helped you revive the drowned iPhone in your life, but are there steps to help us avoid the situation in future? Yes, there are.
Apologies if this sounds patronising, but step one is to keep your devices dry. Water's not good for iPhones and iPads, penetrating deep within their circuitry and leading to damaging short circuits. So those (extremely common) hazards so many iPhone owners risk - taking photos on the beach, browsing the web in the bath, even reading email on the loo - are best avoided. Most of us only cotton on to the dangers after our first soaked iPhone.
We're all human, however, and things get dropped, so it's best to anticipate this. If you really want to use your iPad to read ebooks by the pool or in the bath, consider buying a waterproof case: Lifedge has a £99 iPad case that can handle water and shocks; it also includes an anti-glare screen for sunlight viewing and doesn’t restrict the functionality of the touchscreen or cameras. Also consider the LifeProof Nuud case.

Another option to bear in mind is some kind of handle or wrist strap so that you're less likely to drop the device in the first place.
A handy emergency package to have around - obviously it's best to have it ready in advance, instead of waiting for the crisis to occur and then queueing at the shops - is Kensington's EVAP. It's pretty expensive for what you get, but effectively an improved version of the Silica gel trick above. Well worth consideration, we'd say.

How to fix a water-damaged iPhone: Hoax 'waterproofing' warning

Finally, a warning about a hoax advert that we think was originally intended as a joke, but has taken in a few unfortunate iPhone users around the globe.

Needless to say, although iOS 7 has some great new features, including a completely redesigned interface, multitasking and the Control Centre, waterproofing is not one of them. If, however, you do accidentally drop your iPhone in some water, the tips above could help save your device.

How to Speed Up Android Smartphone (The Ultimate Guide) | AMANAHAD Tech

Android Smartphones has gained lot of popularity in recent years. Many people around the globe now owns an Android Smartphone. Everyday more and more Android Smartphones are poured into market. It is available from high end to low end smartphones But even with newer versions of Android OS , even with high end smartphones, one thing remains same, their user experiences sluggish phones in short amount of time. The Android development are still under construction. So you can either sit around hoping for a update or patch to solve lagging issues. In meantime, you can use your smartphone as paperweight or something like that till patch comes, but it is a long shot Or you can take matters into your own hand and fix the issues using steps given below.

1.Do It Daily!

  • Restart your phone daily once or twice. Yeah,it's sounds weird but restarting phone means all application process will restart too. It will remove any unnecessary process, clear clipboard and some other things which don't matter. All matters is you will have fast smartphone.
  • If your smartphone have high heating issues, keep it off for few minutes. When many processes are running same time,it increases the heat. You will experience lot of lagging under that condition. This method is not very effective but it helps.
  • Clear App Cache: Clear the cache of application you using more than any other. Those apps will have more data cache than any other cache. App cache is data of particular app. You can remove it by Settings > Applications > [ Select your App ] > Clear Cache Note: Don't clear cache of any Game App. It could clear all your game progress and reset your account.

clear_app_cache
  • Check your Smartphone storage: Check your smartphone's internal storage space. Try to keep minimum 1 GB storage space free. Also check your external Storage space. If the SD card is full, remove some stuff or get new SD class with higher class. If your storage space is full, your smartphone will lag..a lot.

2.Get Rid Of It

  • Uninstall any unused apps. Uninstalling the apps you don't use will free up some internal storage space and also removes extra processes of that app. If the app is bloatware [ what is bloatware? More info in next steps] , Disable it.
  • Remove all widgets. If you don't want to remove all widgets, try to limit widgets on your home screen. It depends on your smartphone how much widgets you can use without taking toll on it.But best option would be to delete all widgets.
  • Switch to static wallpapers. Using live wallpaper will slow down the smartphone and also it takes lot of battery power. So static wallpaper is better option than live wallpaper.
  • Disable all Animations. You can find its option under Settings > Developer's option.

disable_animation_android
  • Use stock app-launcher. Stock app-launcher is default launcher. Using any third-party app launcher with lot of animation is not good choice. If you still want to use third-party app launcher, just disable all animation. That will improve the performance.

 3.Apps to Avoid

  • Avoid any antivirus apps.
  • Avoid any battery saver apps. Usually these apps slow downs the phones and also eats precious batter power. There are other ways to save battery than those apps.
  • Carefully select any performance booster apps for your smartphone. Not all apps are suitable for your phone. Try different apps to find suitable app otherwise avoid it.
  • Avoid any third-party launcher. Any launcher with lot of effects and animation will require more resources which will ultimately reduce phone performance. So keep it simple or better avoid it.
I am not saying this types of apps are useless and doesn't work. It is just not every app is suitable for all different smartphones. Experiment with different app to find out which one is suitable for you. But it would be best not to use it.

4.Compatibility Issues

  • If you have powerful processor and high RAM in your smartphone, than avoid reading this topic.
  • Update your smartphone to latest Firmware. A new firmware version can improve the performance but remember newer is not always better.
  • If you have medium range smartphone[includes low range phones], think before updating to newer version of Android. If you are satisfied with running version of Android in your smartphone, than there is no need to update it.
  • Every newer version of Android will have more features than older version. It will use more resources than previous version and you will left out with a sluggish phone.
  • Revert to stock Android version if possible. They are and would be the most suitable for your smartphone.
  • Update to newer version of apps.
  • Take a backup [more to that in next step] of app before updating it. So in case newer version of app is eating more resources or not compatible, you can switch back to older working version.

5.Benefits of Rooted Phone

Rooting will give you master control over your phone. Sure it is little difficult , but it's worth it. There are various methods for rooting which you can find on net for your phone. There are different methods for rooting. Some of them requires unlocked Bootloader which will void your warranty. Read all steps of rooting process or take an expert advise before rooting your phone. It can brick your phones. A bricked phone is useless and hard to repair. The benefit of rooting is that you can always unroot your phone. So let's get started.
  • Root your phone. You can find more about it on forum.xda-developers.com .They are the largest Android community on net.
  • You can overclock your phone processor for speed-up but it will eat more battery power.
  • Custom-ROM: They are the unofficial version of Android for your phone. Custom ROM gives many options to personalize the phone according to your will. Note that not all custom ROM s are good. Before installing any custom ROM, read all the instructions. Check all requirements. Also check for any existing bugs or any missing features. If you are okay with it than install it. Custom-ROM can increase your performance at wide scale. But again, not all are suitable for your smartphone
  • Can remove Bloatware on rooted phone.Bloatware are per-installed apps of your phone. Facebook, voice to text app ,voice dialer , google map are some of examples of bloatware. Bloatware apps are different for different phone. Not rooted phone can not uninstall it.With rooted phone, you can remove all bloatware, hence full control over phone.
  • Can install and use more advanced app. There are many good apps that requires rooted phone. Keep reading for some of examples of rooted apps.

6.Uncategorized stuff

  • Turn-off auto-update of app. It will check again and again for available update. It will eat your internet, battery and also make your phone laggy. To turn it off go-to Playsore app > Menu from top left > My apps > select app . you can find tick-mark option there.

disable_auto_update
  • Disable data synching of different social account like Facebook,Twitter. Also disable synching of  email, gmail etc. To disable it Just go to Settings > Accounts. It could be different for other Android version.
  • There is something you should check out if you are using Android version lower than 4.3. It is called Solid-State Drive TRIM.
  • Last option is - Reset your phone. Reseting the phone will clear everything from contacts to all apps. You will have than out-of-box phone.

7.Playstore

Here is a list of some app that can help you with phone lagging issues. You can download it from Google Playstore. Like I said earlier, try different apps to find suitable app for your phone.
  • App Cache Cleaner : Delete data cache of all apps at once.
  • Automatic Task Killer : An app to kill different task at once.
  • Clean Master : A free optimizer to clean junk files.
  • CCleaner : A powerful windows clean up tool now available for Android.Still in Beta phase.

Create a Shortcut or Hotkey to Mute the System Volume in Windows | AMANAHAD Tech

Have you ever had music playing loudly on your speakers when the phone rings… then you fumble for the speaker switch or the pause button on your music playing application while trying to answer the phone? Instead of bothering with that, I’ve always simply created a shortcut to mute the system volume instantly with the press of a key.
Of course this isn’t terribly helpful if you have a multimedia keyboard with a mute button onboard, but some computers just don’t have one, or you don’t want to run the software required to make the keys work.
Create the Shortcut
In order to mute the system volume, we’ll use a small utility called NirCmd that we’ve mentioned numerous times before, since it’s the swiss army knife of useful shortcuts.
Right-click on the desktop and choose New \ Shortcut from the menu.
image
In the location box, you’ll want to browse down to the location of where you saved nircmd.exe, and then add “mutesysvolume 2″ as arguments. You’ll probably want to put quotes around the path to the executable, like this:
“C:\Path\To\nircmd.exe” mutesysvolume 2
image
Note: the “2″ argument tells nircmd to toggle mute, so if you use the shortcut or hotkey again, it will untoggle. I find that to be the most useful, but you could pass an argument of “1″ to only use mute. All of the arguments can be found on the NirCmd page.
Give the shortcut a useful name like “Toggle Mute”, and then open up the properties of the shortcut. Here you can assign a shortcut key, or you can change the icon to something else.
image
I found the speaker icon in the following file, but you can choose another icon if you’d like:
%SystemRoot%\System32\SndVol.exe
image
Remember when using a shortcut key, you’ll want to keep the shortcut on the desktop or move it into the Start menu… the shortcut keys don’t seem to work when the shortcut is in the quick launch menu.
image
Either way, you should now have a shiny new shortcut that will mute or unmute the system volume.
Download NirCmd from nirsoft.net

MICRO SD card - Lost password | AMANAHAd Tech

The use of memory cards is increasing day-by-day, flash memory being one of the most crucial. Micro SD Cards are compact space saving memory devices which can create a headache if their password is lost. This article will discuss the way to find out the memory card's password quickly. When the password to a Micro SD Card gets lost, the card is blocked and none of the information inside it can be accessed. Interfacing your computer and the mobile via Bluetooth can restore and reset the password. Infrared can also be used to regain access to the files.

  • Issue
  • Solutions
    • Solution one
    • Solution two

This article tells you how to recover a a micro SD card password and micro SD card password reset.
This document deals with the issue of losing a password for a MICRO SD card. If the password for the card is lost then it will be blocked for further use. In such a situation, the user can interface their mobile with the PC using Bluetooth or Infrared, make the changes then find the password in the file created thereafter.

Issue

I have lost the password for my 1GB micro SD card and now it is blocked.

Solutions

Solution one

  • Go to file manager on your mobile
  • In Settings choose system folders,
  • In the System folder, find a file called mmcstore
  • Send the file to your PC using IR/Bluetooth
  • Open the file in Notepad
  • The password you need for your memory card is located within that file

Solution two

1. Insert your card into your phone, without accessing it through the phone

2. Run FExplorer and Open the path C:\system

3. Find the file called mmcstore, and rename it mmcstore.txt

4. Copy that file (mmcstore.txt) to your PC and open it in Notepad

5. Your password will be located within that file.

For Micro SD : -

Put the card in any E series mobile or N95 etc and format it. It will not ask for a password.

What is IP Address | How to Find IP Address

What is Ip Address and How to Find IP Address?
You might have come across this term very often, haven’t you! Every machine on the Internet has a unique identifying number, called an IP Address. A typical IP address looks like this:
216.27.61.137

What s IP Address | How to find IP Address
What s IP Address | How to find IP Address

What is the use of IP Address?

Let me clear this concept with the help of an example, if you want someone to visit your place what do you do? Tell that person your address don’t you. Similarly what will you do if you want to reach someone over a similar or different network over a computer system. You need some mechanism to address difference computers so that they can communicate with each other or information sharing is possible between two computers. To make this information sharing over computers possible, we need IP Address.
An IP address is just like an online address of a computer. It is used to refer to a computer over a network which makes it possible to address that computer uniquely over the network
To make it easier for us humans to remember, IP addresses are normally expressed in decimal format as a dotted decimal numberlike the one above. But computers communicate in binary form. Look at the same IP address in binary:
11011000.00011011.00111101.10001001
The four numbers in an IP address are called octets, because they each have eight positions when viewed in binary form. If you add all the positions together, you get 32, which is why IP addresses are considered 32-bit numbers. Since each of the eight positions can have two different states (1 or 0) the total number of possible combinations per octet is 28 or 256. So each octet can contain any value between 0 and 255. Combine the four octets and you get 232 or a possible 4,294,967,296 unique values!
Out of the almost 4.3 billion possible combinations, certain values are restricted from use as typical IP addresses. For example, the IP address 0.0.0.0 is reserved for the default network and the address 255.255.255.255 is used for broadcasts.
Now you might be thinking – What is my Ip Address.
Finding your IP address is really simple, just visit http://whatismyip.com and it will display your IP address along with the other important information like your geographic location, Internet provider etc.
Now that you know What is IP Address and also know How to Hide you IP Adress.
